I enjoy tutoring because teaching is my calling in life and I believe that I have a talent for working with students. My strength as an educator is the ability to be creative and walk my students through a different way of learning the material than they've been accustomed to in school. Most students view learning as just a list of facts and procedures to memorize but I help my students to see the bigger picture of why the concepts and properties in each subject area make intuitive sense. As a result, they are freed up from the stress and limitations of a memorization-based educational experience and gain more confidence in their ability to learn. My tutoring record is one of proven results, having helped hundreds of students to reach their goals on high-stakes standardized admissions tests and enjoy academic success on their school coursework. I'm a highly-qualified, experienced, motivated, and passionate test prep and math tutor and can teach a diversity of other academic subjects as well. I have four years of experience as a high school mathematics teacher and have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Intermediate Algebra as a full-time classroom teacher to students from grades 7-12. I hold a Colorado Teaching License in Mathematics and Social Studies. I also hold a Minnesota Teaching License for Social Studies.
